My home layout, called Bayland,  is unfortunately no more :(. The room was needed so it had to go. It took me 3,5 years to construct and was dismanteled in 3,5 days!
Its now in memories and in photographs;

I was bored, I had to do something. Then came the idea of John Allens Timesaver layout, small and with a lot of shunting possibilities.

I did a rough plan, a bit of a clone timesaver and started to hammer in.

It was going to be 2 meters x 45 cm's.

I had plenty of left overs from Bayland and decided to use some of the leftovers, including rails and other bits and pieces.

First the turnouts were fixed;

...then laid the tracks;

...the point motors and wiring was done;

...rails were painted and a small control panel was constructed;

.....added bits saved from Bayland including a catenary system to the mainline and electrifed the lamps and buildings;

Two portable fold up legs and a small mobile table were constructed to carry the essentials. It now is airborne and could be carried everywhere, even to friends houses for a game of time saver.

....next ; scenary and ballasting.

.....Balasted the rails and added the Kadee magnets for easy uncoupling;

...added trackside accesories;

...and the trackside scenics;

beautiful work! Only the bases of those catenary pylons are spoiling the realistic image of the scene. Hope they'll get covered with some gravel or perhaps with some clay or concrete rubbing.

Hello Erkut,
An interesting idea this Timesaver!
And very nice modelling indeed.  I'm really impressed by the fine detailing.
Thank you very much for sharing this project with us.
Have a nice day!

Hi Oebr,

You area quite right, all will be covered with plastic clay to give the effect of concrete and be weathered. I still have a lot to do.
